At StreamZ Global, we believe that providing non-invasive, 24/7 support is the cornerstone of equine longevity. Our partnership with an equine charity in USA, the NCEFT has allowed us to introduce EQU StreamZ Bands to some of their most beloved herd members. By integrating our unique non-thermal resonance technology into their daily care routines, we have seen firsthand how "movement and magic" go hand-in-hand.
This is the story of how advanced wellness technology is helping the healers heal.
✔ Repair when something goes wrong.
✔ Prevent problems before they occur.

Introducing The National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy (NCEFT)
At the National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy (NCEFT), they believe in the transformative potential of every individual and their mission is to empower clients to thrive through equine-assisted interventions. Founded in 1971, NCEFT in California USA is internationally recognised as a pioneer and leader of equine-assisted programs.
Their programs provide a holistic approach to healing for children and adults facing disabilities and mental health challenges. The team combine evidence-based practices with the profound rehabilitative power of the human-horse connection to deliver a range of programs that enhance physical abilities, improve independence, build confidence, and cultivate emotional well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.
They have spent over five decades harnessing the unique, intuitive power of the horse to transform peoples lives. But for these equine "therapists" to provide such transformative care, they must first be cared for with the same level of dedication and expertise.
The life of a therapy horse is a demanding "second act." Many of the residents at NCEFT arrive after illustrious careers in the competitive arena: from the high-intensity world of vaulting and reining to the precision of upper-level dressage.
Many rescue horses face a long road to recovery, dealing with everything from malnutrition and starvation to severe hoof problems like Laminitis and Thrush—making the maintenance of a healthy horse hoof a top priority.

Skin conditions such as rain rot, fungal infections, and sores from past neglect are common, alongside heavy internal parasite overloads that lead to weight loss and colic.
Physical rehabilitation must also address chronic lameness and joint problems, including arthritis, a stifle injury in horses, old fractures, or tendon and ligament damage from overwork that often results in filled legs, including edema or windgalls (windpuffs).
Respiratory diseases like equine asthma (heaves), bouts of life-threatening colic, and infectious diseases such as strangles are also frequent hurdles. Beyond the physical, the psychological scars—fear, aggression, or learned helplessness—require months of patient care.
Supporting these equine heroes requires more than just standard husbandry; it requires a sophisticated approach to wellness that respects their physiology and their need for constant comfort.
The NCEFT Mission: More Than Just a Ride
NCEFT is not your typical boarding stable. It is a world-class facility where Hippotherapy (medical-quality equine movement), Adaptive Riding, and Mental Health programs converge. The horses here are selected not just for their gaits, but for their souls. They must be steady enough to support a rider with limited trunk control, yet sensitive enough to mirror the emotions of a veteran struggling with PTSD.
What is Hippotherapy? Hippotherapy is the use of horse riding as a therapeutic or rehabilitative treatment, especially as a means of improving coordination, balance, and strength.
Each horse in the program undergoes rigorous training and constant health monitoring. Because the therapy they provide is so physically specific: utilising the horse’s multi-dimensional movement to stimulate human neurological and muscular systems: the horse’s own mobility must be fluid and pain-free. If a horse is stiff or "short" in its stride due to hock or stifle arthritis, the therapeutic benefit to the human rider is diminished. This is why joint health is the top priority for the NCEFT equine management team.
Navigating the Science: Why Non-Thermal Matters
When discussing "magnetic therapy", there is a significant amount of historical misinformation that needs to be cleared away. For years, the industry standard suggested that magnets worked by "increasing blood flow." However, modern science has largely debunked the idea that static magnets can physically pull blood or significantly alter circulation in that manner.
Many traditional magnetic products on the market do produce noticeable results, but they often do so by creating a thermal reaction. This localised heat can help soothe minor aches, but it comes with a significant limitation: heat buildup. Because traditional magnets generate a thermal response, they are generally not recommended for long-term or 24/7 wear and should not be used when treating long term muscle, tendon or ligament injuries. Leaving a heat-inducing wrap on a horse’s leg for extended periods can lead to tissue damage or skin irritation, particularly in turnout or during warm weather.
This is where StreamZ proprietary technology differs fundamentally to traditional magnetic therapy. Our technology does not rely on heat. Instead, we utilise a unique 360º non-thermal resonance technology. This involves a specific manufacturing process where the magnetic fields are designed to create a resonance without the traditional "pulsing" or heat-generating friction found in standard magnetic wraps.
The benefits of this non-thermal approach include:
- 24/7 Wearability: Because there is no heat buildup, EQU StreamZ bands can be worn around the clock, in the stable, and during turnout.
- Consistency: Constant support means the horse doesn’t experience the "peaks and valleys" of pain management associated with short-term treatments.
- Safety: They can be used on horses prone to skin sensitivities or those living in warmer climates where traditional wraps would be too restrictive and hot.
Meet the NCEFT Heroes: Real Stories of Recovery
To emphasise the impact of StreamZ proprietary technology has on horses across a whole variety of conditions; the team at StreamZ offered to donate bands to their horses.
We recommended that the wonderful team at NCEFT gave the bands to a few horses who would most benefit from them, and report back their findings. As a company we want to make a difference, and we knew what impact the bands would have. From that, we promised to share this story with our followers in the hope that we could generate some much needed donations to the NCEFT team.
The real life results we achieved is exactly why we do what we do!
Tino: The Vaulting Star’s New Stride
Tino, a striking Friesian–Morgan cross, spent his younger years as a vaulting horse. If you’ve ever seen vaulting, you know it involves athletes performing gymnastic routines on a moving horse. It requires incredible strength and years of circling work on a lunge line. This repetitive motion eventually led to general stiffness and arthritis.
Since wearing his bands, this is the feedback we received from NCEFT.
"Tino is a Friesian–Morgan cross in his early twenties, known for his flowing mane, gentle eyes, and kind hearted personality. Before joining the NCEFT herd, Tino worked as a vaulting horse—patiently carrying athletes as they performed graceful routines on his back. That work required incredible balance, strength, and trust, qualities that now make him an excellent partner in our sessions where his calm energy helps riders feel secure and centered.
After years of circling work in his vaulting days, Tino developed general stiffness and arthritis throughout his body—common in horses who spent much of their career on the lunge line. As he’s aged, those aches have sometimes made it harder for him to move with ease.
Since introducing EQU StreamZ bands into Tino’s daily care, his team has noticed a wonderful improvement. He now moves more freely and comfortably, showing greater willingness to step forward and engage in his work. His stride feels looser, his attitude brighter, and his enthusiasm has truly returned. Thanks to the extra support from the StreamZ bands, Tino continues to thrive in his role—bringing both movement and magic to every session he’s part of."
Woody: Managing Complexity
Woody’s story is perhaps the most technically significant. A very handsome Thoroughbred–Belgian cross and former dressage horse, Woody suffers from front-end lameness and mild arthritis. However, Woody is also prone to gastric ulcers, which makes the long-term use of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) a high-risk strategy.
His team’s goal was to find a way to reduce his medication safely.
"Woody is a Thoroughbred–Belgian cross in his mid-twenties whose elegant movement and kind eye tell the story of a life well-lived. Before joining our herd, he enjoyed a successful career as a dressage horse—a background that shines through in everything he does. His natural balance, responsiveness, and gentle temperament make him an invaluable partner in our adaptive riding program, where his steady rhythm and patience offer confidence to riders of all abilities.
Like many older horses with an active past, Woody has faced a few health challenges along the way. He developed some front-end lameness and now lives with mild arthritis, which we've managed with a low dose of pain medication. However, he’s also prone to ulcers, so finding ways to reduce his medication safely has been a top priority for his care team.
Recently, Woody began wearing StreamZ bands, and the change has been remarkable. His movement has become noticeably freer, his stride more fluid, and his energy brighter. It’s as if a bit of his old dressage sparkle has returned. Over the coming weeks, and under our veterinarian’s guidance, we’re working to carefully lower his pain medication. We’re optimistic that the StreamZ bands have played a big role in helping Woody feel more comfortable and well-balanced—both in body and in spirit."
Checkers: Helping him Stay Supple
Checkers is a handsome Quarter Horse in his early twenties with the calm confidence of a horse who has seen and done it all. Before joining the NCEFT herd, he worked as both a cow and reining horse—a background that gave him agility, sensitivity, and a wonderful “can-do” attitude.
"Those years of athletic work shaped him into the steady and cooperative partner he is today, especially valued in our hippotherapy sessions where his smooth gaits and patient nature make all the difference for riders working on strength and balance.
Like many horses with active careers, Checkers developed arthritis in his stifles as a result of his working life. While it sometimes made his movement a little stiff, his heart has always remained willing. Recently, we introduced StreamZ bands to his care routine, and the results have been inspiring and produced significant impact on him."
Pistol: Supporting his Hock Issues
Pistol is a 23-year-old Quarter Horse whose calm, dependable nature instantly wins people over. Before joining the NCEFT program, Pistol worked as a hard working ranch horse—a job that built his incredible work ethic and made him sure-footed, responsive, and patient.
"Those same qualities now make him a treasured partner in our sessions, where his steady presence helps riders build trust and confidence.
Years of ranch work, however, took a toll on Pistol’s hind end. He developed arthritis, particularly in his stifles and hocks, which sometimes made it difficult for him to move forward comfortably. With careful veterinary care and ongoing support, Pistol has continued to thrive—but recently, we added another layer to his wellness routine: StreamZ bands.
Since beginning to wear the bands, Pistol’s movement has improved noticeably. He steps out with more ease, showing greater fluidity through his hindquarters and a willingness to move forward that reminds us of his younger days. Combined with his veterinary treatments, the StreamZ bands have made a real difference in his comfort and overall mobility—helping ensure that this kind and loyal gelding continues to do the work he loves with strength and grace."
Elf: The Wise Elder
At 29, Elf the Norwegian Fjord is the patriarch of the herd. Managing Cushing’s disease and full-body arthritis, Elf requires a holistic approach to wellness. While we cannot turn back the clock to age zero, providing Elf with 24/7 resonance support ensures that his "golden years" are spent in comfort rather than constant ache.
"Elf, a 29-year-old Norwegian Fjord, is one of the wisest and most beloved members of the NCEFT herd. With his sturdy build, kind eyes, and distinctive coloring, he carries himself with the quiet confidence of a horse who has spent a lifetime doing what he loves. Before joining our program, Elf was a successful show horse for his breed, admired for his strength, willingness, and unmistakable charm.
Now well into his golden years, Elf manages a few age-related challenges. He lives with Cushing’s disease and arthritis throughout his body—natural results of an active and accomplished life. Yet despite these hurdles, Elf’s spirit has never dimmed. His team monitors his comfort closely, always searching for ways to support his well being and keep him active in a way that suits his age and abilities."

Differentiating the StreamZ Range
While the EQU StreamZ BANDS are the primary tool for the NCEFT herd due to their 24/7 wearability, it is important for owners to understand how they differ from other products in our range.
- EQU StreamZ BANDS: Designed for 24/7 wear. They are non-thermal and can be worn in the field or the stable. They are not a cooling product; they are a long-term wellness tool.
- EQU StreamZ Coolboots: These are intended for immediate post-exercise recovery. Using Coolmax material, they provide cooling for 5–20 minutes without the need for ice or a freezer. While they also incorporate our magnetic technology, their primary function is the rapid dissipation of heat after a workout.
For the humans who care for these horses (and the dogs who follow them around the barn!), we also offer YOU StreamZ and DOG StreamZ, allowing the entire "support team" to benefit from the same non-thermal resonance technology.
Conclusion: A Future of Movement
The partnership between StreamZ and NCEFT is a testament to what happens when we prioritise the comfort of our animal companions. By moving away from the "heat and blood flow" myths of the past and embracing the science of non-thermal resonance, we can provide horses like Woody, Tino, and Elf with a quality of life that honours their service.

FAQ's, Frequently asked questions
What makes EQU StreamZ magnetic bands for horses different from traditional magnetic wraps?
Unlike traditional magnets that often rely on creating a thermal reaction (heat), EQU StreamZ uses a unique 360º non-thermal resonance technology. While old-school myths suggest magnets work by "increasing blood flow," modern science shows this isn't the case. Our bands provide support without generating heat, making them safer for long-term use.
Can my horse wear EQU StreamZ bands 24/7?
Yes! Because our resonance technology is non-thermal, there is no risk of heat buildup or tissue damage. This means your horse can wear them comfortably 24/7, whether they are in the stable or out in the field.
Are the bands safe to use for horses with skin sensitivities or in hot climates?
Absolutely. Traditional magnetic wraps can often cause skin irritation or overheating in warmer weather. EQU StreamZ bands are designed to be breathable and non-invasive, making them ideal for horses with sensitive skin or those living in sunny climates.
How does the NCEFT donation work?
We are proud to donate 20% of revenue to NCEFT every time the code NCEFT20 is used on our USA website. To ensure these funds are appropriately allocated to the charity, we ask that you first sign up for our newsletter. Once you’re part of the StreamZ family, the code will be suitable for your purchase! This process is in place to help us battle the discount stores online.
Can EQU StreamZ help with specific issues like a stifle injury in horses or hock arthritis?
Many of the NCEFT "Goldies," like Checkers and Pistol, have seen wonderful improvements in mobility. While our bands are a wellness tool and not a cure, their 24/7 resonance support helps horses with stifle and hock issues move more freely and comfortably.
Is magnetic therapy for horses suitable for seniors with chronic stiffness?
Yes, it's perfect for them! Senior horses like 29-year-old Elf and 20-something Tino use our bands to manage age-related stiffness and arthritis. The constant support helps maintain fluidity in their stride during their "golden years."
Can I use these bands if my horse is on medication for gastric ulcers?
Many owners, including the team caring for Woody at NCEFT, choose StreamZ because it’s a non-invasive way to support comfort. Because it doesn't interfere with the digestive system, it’s a great option for horses that are prone to ulcers or those who need to reduce their reliance on NSAIDs (under veterinary guidance).
What is the difference between EQU StreamZ Bands and Coolboots?
The EQU StreamZ Bands are designed for 24/7 wellness and long-term joint support. The Coolboots, however, are specifically for post-exercise recovery. They use Coolmax technology to dissipate heat rapidly after a workout and are intended for short-term use (5–20 minutes).
Do the bands require a "rest period" like other magnetic products?
No rest period is required. Because there is no "pulsing" or heat friction, you don’t need to take them off after a few hours. Consistency is key to resonance therapy—the more they wear them, the more consistent the support.
Are there StreamZ products available for humans and dogs too?
Yes! The same non-thermal resonance technology used for the NCEFT horses is available for the whole "support team." We offer YOU StreamZ (wrist and ankle bands) for people and DOG StreamZ collars for your canine companions.
Disclaimer: While EQU StreamZ products are designed to support wellness, they are not a replacement for professional veterinary care. Always consult with your veterinarian before making changes to your horse's medication or treatment plan, especially for conditions like arthritis, lameness, or gastric ulcers.
